UX design
The NHS Patient Access app enables clinicians to be more productive and more effective at what they do best – care for patients. Built in conjunction with an NHS nurse specialist, the design surfaces what clinicians need front and centre – their patients’ navigation through the care system thus far and the related steps – but doesn’t shy away from providing well-designed complex information.
Healthcare information design is one of my passions, and the ability to design structured data for use in an application of this nature was incredibly exciting and useful. Particularly interesting was the challenge of displaying dense data across multiple patients with different demographics and progressions through the services on offer, as well as producing a unified approach to showing the navigation through the health service, regardless of location, age, gender, or specific service used.
